“Follow the Northern Star” at Freeport Theatre Festival

July 14-16, 21-23 & 28-30, 2006

For three weekends, the 78th PVI, Co. F took part in the Freeport Theatre Festival production of “Follow the Northern Star,” an original play written by Rennick Steele about the true story of the local White Cloud community in the Underground Railroad and the Civil War.  Members provided much of the wardrobe and seven even took on acting roles.  Before the start of the play each night, the 78th also put and coordinated a small skirmish outside which represented the 40th PA’s advance on the Wheatfield at Gettysburg .  The 40th PA was highlighted in the play.  The entire production went very well and we received tremendous praise from the audience each night.
