Civil War Baseball Game

September 4th at Freeport

As part of a summer ending get-together, the 78th PA, Co. F continued an annual tradition of playing a Civil War baseball game.  Teams representing the Freeport Blues and Armstrong Rifles played for six innings using the New York rules of the 1860s with period equipment.  The Blues won this year’s game 8-6.   Game Recap

The Rifles have a runner on base as the Blues tighten their defense.

Mike Valasek hopes to drive in another Blues’ run.  What a beautiful day for a game!
