2008 Elections:    Burdell Waffler - President & Brigadier General

                             Scot Buffington - Colonel, 3rd Regiment

                             Mark Herzog - Major, 3rd Regiment

                             Linda Dussinger - USV Civilian Coordinator

3rd Regiment News:

Scot Buffington was approved for promotion from major to colonel, and Mark Herzog was approved for promotion from captain to major.

The Liberty Rifles were approved to full line company status.  The 40th PA transferred from 1st Regiment to 3rd Regiment as a line company.  The 28th MA, Co. K was approved as a provisional member sponsored by the 28th MA, Co.B.  Jeff Hayes (Liberty Rifles), Steve Hane (28th MA, Co. B), and Brian Roman (40th PA) were approved as captains of their respective line companies.

The events approved for a regimental effort were:  At High Tide (Gettysburg) in June, Fisher's Hill in September, and Cedar Creek in October.

Common Sense Resolution

The 78th PVI, Co. F has voted to sign and pledge its support to the new Common Sense Resolution.  In continuing our organization's and our regiment's support for quality reenactments and raising preservation awareness and funds, we will try when and where ever possible to adhere to these standards.  The 78th PVI, Co. F realizes the importance of maintaining authenticity and safety at events while attempting to recreate battles as accurately as possible for us and the public.  Over a dozen organizations, from mess size groups to entire regiments, have currently signed this declaration. 

Mission Statement:   To create a tool to build an environment in Civil War Reenacting in which history is first, last and foremost. To foster ownership of events, proceeds, scenarios and schedules for the betterment of the hobby for the men in the ranks, the public and each other.
