Shenandoah 1862 Re-enactment

June 2-4, 2006 at Cross Keys & Port Republic , VA

Members of the 78th PVI, Co. F traveled to Virginia to take part in a preservation effort to raise money to preserve the Cross Keys and Port Republic Battlefields.  For this event, we had the unique experience of re-enacting on these actual battlefields, something that had never been done before.  On Saturday, we re-enacted the slaughter of the 8th New York before marching six miles to Port Republic where we re-enacted the defense of the 66th OH.  Event Report
