ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is open to all male descendants (through paternal or maternal lines), not less than fourteen years of age—of soldiers, sailors, or marines, who were regularly mustered and served honorably in, or who were honorably discharged from the Army or Navy of the United States during the War of the Rebellion, 1861-1865, and who have never been convicted of any heinous crime, or who have not, or whose ancestors (through whom membership is claimed) have not borne arms against the Government of the United States.

The initiation fee is $25.00, and annual dues are $25.00, which are prorated quarterly.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War also accept Associate Members (males without the civil war ancestry), who have nearly the same rights and privileges as full members of the organization. The initiation fee and annual dues are the same as that for regular members. Membership is open to anyone, regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin.
